The movie had Saif Ali Khan, debutant Rohan Vinod Mehra, Radhika Apte and Chitraganda Singh in the lead. Baazaar performed average on the box office. However, it received a lot of appreciation for its storyline based around stock market.

The Movie, during its release, became famous as the biopic of Dhirubhai Ambani and his journey of establishing the Reliance Industry.
